A Fistful of RY4

Description

A creamy caramel cigar fit for a filthy gunslinger. It changes a lot in the first week or so, give it some time. The FA Caramel + Butterscotch combo is one of my all time favorites. Before Holy Grail RY4 came to the scene, this combo at a 2:1 ratio was the closest I ever got to a real sticky, bright caramel. It has really good high notes on the finish that stick out above darker bases but also brings a great sticky mouthfeel to the table. The JF RY4 Double occupies a similar space, mostly for volume & body, but in this mix it also acts as the centerpiece upon which all other facets are mounted. On its own, it is much cleaner in caramel flavor than TFA, with a more authentic semi-raisiny tobacco note. In a mix like this, the additional flavors bend those non-descript bits into their own new & better flavors. TFA FVC is a malty, rich mouth coating vanilla but not as thick and eggy as custard. Definitely underrated, it bolsters mouthfeel here as well but also fills some vanilla where I find JF RY4D falls short. INW TA Cuban Cigar - straight no frills cigar wrapper leaf flavor. Light, leathery, no bull shit. INW 555 + FLV Red Burley - primary filler tobaccos for the cigar, 555 adds that nuttiness and Red Burley melds similar notes with a dark, rich and earthy filler. Perfect intersection of profiles. These both have notes that also bolster the cuban cigar wrapper. INW DNB - Dirty it up a bit. Okay, a lot. DNB keeps this in believable cigar flavor realm, the smokiness and slight bitter aftertaste cuts some of the sweetness of the RY4 components, aiding in balance.
