Berry Crumbly!
Description
This recipe wouldn’t be where it is now without the generous help, support, guidance & advice from LukeLoop & Pippa Starr (DIYDownunder-Pippa). This has been a recipe I’ve been working on since I started mixing over 12 months ago, & has been quite the labor of love! It’s very loosely based on the flavours in Humble juice Co. “Humble crumble”. It was a beautiful moment recently when a friend told me they preferred this over the Humble Crumble! It blew me away actually!!😳🥺
It was very unbalanced to begin with, being all berry & no crumble, but Luke & Pippa got me on a more balanced track!
This was also an exercise in using what I had, & not using any crumble topping. A crumble topping from scratch so to speak!!
This may look like a hot mess express with all the bakeries, but each & every 1 of them brings something unique to the recipe (I think).
The last change made was the addition of CAP Golden Butter-previous versions didn’t have it-it was nice, but it needed some more butteryness.
I also thought of increasing the FA caramel by .15 to .75. But I hypothesised that the golden butter may add additional caramel notes. I tested after 14 day steep (14 days is minimum-I would suggest longer for the full effect), & to me, the caramel notes are adequate with the .50%, but you could try another .15% FA Caramel if you wanted. I might revisit this down the track, along with another 1% of TPA Vanilla Swirl (that was another hypothesis, but I was assured privately that the recipe looked good where it was). Anyway, I’m quite happy with it as is for the moment.
I guess it’s a case of where do you stop fiddling & tweaking a recipe before you release it? Lol!! I could keep fiddling, but, I do think it’s nice at this point-in saying that, it’s definitely not off the cards that I’ll fiddle with this more in the future! I hope you like it!! I’m truly an open book-if you have any suggestions, or you think I should move the caramel or vanilla swirl, please let me know your thoughts!!
Feel free to sweeten-I’m sensitive to the stuff, so I generally try to avoid it if & when I can!!
Vaping is under attack globally...all I ask is that you do your little bit-in whichever way you can, in whatever capacity you see fit, whenever you can. We all need to unite in the fight to keep vaping available...not only for us in the vaping/DIY community, but for all the smokers out there, yet to discover the life saving technology that is vaping.
Please, do what you can to keep up with advocacy where you are at in the world-not only for your benefit, but for the benefit of the community...as well as for family, friends, colleagues & acquaintances who are still smokers...for those yet to find vaping...
use that "Google Foo people"
As Nick, Grimm Green would say "Don't let any crooked politician tell you otherwise...vaping (has been proven to be) AT LEAST 95% safer than smoking deadly combustible tobacco..."
"The SCIENCE HAS to win, ...Right?"
Keep on, vaping on people!!! ...
&, keep ur DIY'ing game on too!!! ✌️
