Blackcurrant Airwaves
Description
Blackcurrant Airwaves is the exact flavor of the famous Airwaves gum in Europe, of which there are several flavors and this one nails the blackcurrant one.
Airwaves are chewing gums with a blast of menthol, eucalyptus and some sweetness, the type of chewing gum with a crunchy, white, rectangular-shaped coating.
Regarding the recipe, I will say that Inawera already has an Airwaves flavour, which I use in this recipe, which tries to emulate those famous chewing gums. The problem for me is that if you use it at a high percentage, the eucalyptus and mints cover the bubblegum and currant flavor. So i decided to keep it at 1.5% to try and get a bit more of the bubblegum and fruity aftertaste to come through.
My goal in this recipe was to get the flavor of the gum when you are chewing it for the first time: The minty hit, the herbaceous notes of the eucalyptus and the deep sweetness of the blackcurrant that intermingles with the others.
The best part of these chewing gums for me is when the blackcurrant impregnates your mouth with sweetness in the first few bites, since then, it leaves as a faint aftertaste, and for that reason, I decided to increase it a lot with INW Blackcurrant at 4%, and give it a touch more of syrupy and sweet with CAP Sweet Currant at 1%.
And finally, INW Blackfruit Mint provides a little more mint but above all, more blackcurrant base notes.
Capella Super sweet is very high but I prefer it that way, although you can start from 0.5% -0.75 and the result will be very good too.
Ws-23 for me, it is very important despite having mints and eucalyptus, because each flavour that has cooling, hits you in different parts of the throat and mouth creating a very interesting and realistic freshness.Recipe
