I bought my last bottle of my favorite The One a few months before I began DIYing in 2020. I tried it again tonight. Daaaaang that was sweet stuff, LOL. This is my final remix effort. I sent my mind back to 2015 (?) when this came out. Those early commercial ejuice makers did it short, sweet & cheap to maximize profits and tended to stick with 1 or 2 flavor houses...CAP and/or TFA.
I fought my way past the gagging sweetness when I filled a tank tonight from that old bottle. Yup. CAP all the way. Their Glazed Doughnut was a dead giveaway. It's the predominant note. The doughnut needs at least a good couple weeks to develop properly. Even that corniness comes through from Cereal 27 at the end of the exhale. And, Sweet Strawberry was definitely used. I read the label and it shows Strawberry, Cereal, Doughnut, Milk pictures. I used VC2 as the dairy. It's just 4 ingredients (and Super Sweet). This is it.
Now if you reeeeally want it to taste 100% authentic just up the sweetener to 3% or more. I'm still playing with the SS% but so far I can only handle
up to 1.75%. (barely)
Just a reminder. Steep time is important when you're trying to make a remix/clone of a commercial ejuice. Those ejuices have been sitting around in dark boxes on shelves in a manufacturer's warehouse for weeks, possibly months steeping. Then when they're shipped to a distributor somewhere, it's probably sitting around some more. So, let this thing steep a while for the full effect.
I can now scratch off 'making The One' from my bucket list.
I'm over it.😎
