Cherry Pie (Double R Diner special)

Description

"This must be where pies go when they die." (Agent Dale Cooper, Twin Peaks, Season 1, Episode 4) I love damn fine coffee and I love me some cherry pie. Aim is for a buttery, flaky, shortcrust-style crust and a jammy not-too-sweet filling with a great mouthfeel. I may not be there yet, but it's Twin Peaks Day, so I thought I'd share. Crust= OOO pie crust + CAP Apple Pie (additional texture and a hint of tart fruit) + WF Almond cookie (for crispness and a little almond in the crust instead of in the filling) Cherry filling = SSA Compote Cherry + INW Cherries (because the SSA was kinda limp on its own but a great base in need of boosting) VT Honeycomb is there for a little cooked sugar sweetness, like if you sprinkled brown sugar over the crust before baking.
