Heisenberg Menthol (The Berg) (clone)
Description
An attempt to "clone" Innevape's Heisenberg (The Berg) Menthol. I do not think I could tell the difference with a side-by-side comparison to the commercial version. A combination of ADV vaping this juice at one time, help from some folks over at the diy\_ejuice discord, trying a lot of wrong leads over the years, knowing the oldies that could have been used when this juice was released, lots of failed attempts and a little luck, I'll be ok with embracing "clone."
To me, at a minimum, It's very reminiscent and uses flavor concentrates that are known to be in the original commercial juice. The rest is entirely guesswork and I make no claim to 1:1 or even 1:0.9, you try it and tell me if it's "in the ball park." That would be great. :)
I would love more feedback on this recipe from other former (or current) ADVers of the commercial version. I only have a limited supply of the DV flavorings required but should be able to source from DIY Ejuice in Canada (ships to US), NomNomz, or DV directly.

Innevape's Description: _A cool blue slushie enhanced with a blast of refreshing menthol that will uplift the senses._
What I Taste: "Blue," cold, sweet. It's like I'm licking a blue raspberry sucker in between eating ice. The cold hits first, then the Blue comes through, and ends in a refreshing and cold vape. There are undertones of anise or possibly ~~licorice~~ (nope, let's try) absinthe and blueberry.
- DV Crystal Blue - _A divine blend of juicy forest fruits, grape and a twist of anise, subtly culminating in a crystal cool finish._ This is the base of the recipe. While called a concentrate, it's weak and used _very_ high compared to most concentrates used to make ejuice. I can't really describe the taste better than the manufacturer's description but the first time I smelled that flavor I immediately knew it was "right." That and it is blue lol. Thanks to the many folks that pointed me in this direction and @badboxer99 for the 60ml. :)
- DV Absinthe - @EdibleMalfunction was working on his version of Heisenberg in #recipe-help, and I noticed he used Absinthe. Well it just so happens that I bought DV Absinthe, DV Aniseed, and DV Jack Black for making a real attempt at a clone. DV Absinthe in this mix tastes like blue cough syrup (if such a thing exists) to me at first, but after a day it settles in and tastes just right. Pretty certain this is that distinct flavor that twists DV Crystal Blue into the blue raspberry sucker. I know the description says "slush," but to me it definitely comes across more like candy and not a drink. It tastes right for how it sits in the mix, and the aftertaste on the tongue. This is "it." at least I'm pretty sure it is.
- FW Blue Raspberry - I'm not entirely certain this is the correct blue raspberry, but here is why I chose it: this flavor was around when this recipe was made, is one of the "good" blue razz flavors, and does taste "right." The list is long of blue razz flavors I tried and did not work but LB Blue Razz might work fine here. I didn't try that one in this mix.
- FW Blueberry - I can taste it, and the obvious contenders didn't fit. Tried CAP, TPA, and Hangsen, none of which tasted right in any combination. Does seem missing when omitted.
- FW Menthol, TPA Koolada, WS-23 30% - Seems to work juuuust right for that icy finish really really well. I want to say I nailed this part but again, taste is subjective. Although I can be quoted stating "0.5% max for FW Menthol" it works great at 1% here. Considering this an attempt at a clone and previous experience using this combo, 1:1:1 was a good gamble that paid off and is not only tasty to me, seems this might be _the_ combo. Again, idk, you tell me :)
- FW Sweetener - Sweetener is key to this recipe. Tried at 2% (overdrip accident) and was really tasty for someone with a sugar tooth like me, but doing so put more of a spotlight on the Blue Raspberry, detracting from the overall flavor of the recipe as a whole. Seems good at 1%, but I would not leave it out or lower it unless you just want to. It won't taste the same though. 1.5% max if you like it commercial sweet and don't want to change the overall flavor.
I do prefer it more after a day but is vapable after a few hours for me. If you want to try it off the shake you better like cough syrup.
Enjoy!
July 17, 2024 - This is the closest I've been before.
July 20, 2024 - DV Jack Black and DV Aniseed are not it. Still fine tuning %. Think Edible was on to something with DV Absinthe
July 21, 2024 - Yep, this is it, or as close as I can get lol
July 26, 2024 - Several 10ml mixes later, with tiny adjustments, I still think this is pretty close, or the closest I'm going to get. So close I made a 100ml on the 24th to see if it stands up over time. Two days in and so far, so good. Keeping private for now until I get some feedback, but I think I'm done with this one.
August 12, 2024 - Now you know how long a 100ml lasts me haha. This is it, or close enough for me anyway. Publishing.
