Description
## Eine Welt verfällt dem Rausch
Erstmals schriftlich erwähnt wird Schlafmohn, die Pflanze aus dem Opium gewonnen wird, im 4. Jahrtausend vor Christus.
Damals wurde sie in Ägypten bereits als nützliche Pflanze angebaut. Aus dieser Zeit stammen auch die ersten Bronzezylinder, die als Opiumpfeifen gedient haben sollen.
Durch Schnitte in die unreife Samenkapsel des Schlafmohns setzt sich eine milchige Flüssigkeit ab, die später getrocknet als Rohopium geerntet werden kann.
Neben den Ägyptern fanden die Römer großen Gefallen am sonderbaren Mittel, das der Gesundheit wie auch den kreativen Fähigkeiten diente.

## A world falls into intoxication
The opium poppy, the plant from which opium is extracted, was first mentioned in writing in the 4th millennium BC.
At that time, it was already cultivated in Egypt as a useful plant. The first bronze cylinders, which are said to have served as opium pipes, also date from this time.
Cuts into the immature seed pod of the opium poppy cause a milky liquid to settle, which can later be harvested dried as raw opium.
In addition to the Egyptians, the Romans found great favor in the peculiar remedy, which served health as well as creative abilities.
