Sour Strawberry Remix
Description
The original version of this is very good and I'm a big fan of it but it does have that very specific CAP Sweet Strawberry kind of taste. That's not a bad thing at all but I decided to see if I could make the recipe work without using CAP Sweet Strawberry or JF Strawberry Sweet.
This version was actually made along side the original Sour Strawberry but they're so similar in profile I decided to just rename this one as a remix. The strawbery is more gummy-like and more syrupy. The tart/"sour" element is also more upfront and noticable with LA Tart and Sour and WF Sour Gummy Candy upped just a little. I know not many people use LA Tart and Sour anymore but I'm a huge fan of it in candy recipes. It brightens everything up and adds a great sweet tartness to everything.
First thing I did was to up WF Strawberry Gummy Candy to 3%. Its strawberry note really works great in a recipe like this.
Second, I needed to decide on a very syrupy strawberry. There's not many strawberry flavors I like but INW Shisha Strawberry is one I love. It has a nice syrupy sweet strawberry note that works with just about anything.
For the third strawberry I decided to use JF Ultimate Strrawberry. I really like this flavor. It has a bold strawberry fllavor and mixes well with the other strawberries.
I actually like this one a little better than the OG but both are very good depending on your taste in strawberry.
Aside from CAP Ripe Strawberries, PUR Sweet Strawberry and SSA Premium Strawberry I think I used all the strawberries I like in these two Sour Strawberry recipes.
